Running Auspicious Furniture alongside The Design Hub, Nigel is hands-on every day whether he’s on-site installing or in the workshop, carving out his next masterpiece.
His deep love for materials, especially sustainable ones, fuels his relentless pursuit of perfection. For Nigel, every project is a blank canvas, a chance to unleash the creativity of The Design Hub team and craft something that truly embodies the essence of the owners and their home.
Nigel’s attention to detail is unmatched, and he doesn’t just build furniture - he creates stories, each one unique.
He thrives in a community of hardcore creatives, collaborating with the skilled craftspeople in our team and wider network who share his passion for pushing the boundaries of craft, art, and design. He’s all about care, artistry, and making the world a more beautiful place, one piece of furniture at a time.
And watch out, Nigel’s obsession with timber offcuts is the stuff of legend. Get him started, and you’ll be in for a wild ride through his epic collection.
When he’s not crafting or talking wood, you’ll find him tearing through the streets on his motorbike. Oh, and if he looks familiar, you might’ve seen him featured on George Clarke’s *Old House New Home* - just another day in the life of a master craftsman.
Nigel grew up in the shadow of Gloucester Cathedral, surrounded by the raw beauty of traditional stonemasonry and woodcraft. From an early age, he was drawn to the craft, becoming a true artisan whose handcrafted furniture is nothing short of art in wood.
With nearly 35 years under his belt, Nigel’s precision and dedication have made him a force in bespoke furniture making.

Anthony Webster
Architectural Designer, Project manager and Triumph Scrambler owner
Founder of The Design Hub and Director of Anthony Webster Architectural Design
Anthony splits his time between designing and managing projects at The Design Hub and running his own architectural design practice. On any given day, you'll find him deep in architectural designs for clients, overseeing projects with our team on site, or meeting with clients.
He thrives on combining contemporary design with historical architecture and finds inspiration in how old buildings bear witness to their age and previous uses through the marks of their past, carrying the weight of their own history. His creativity peaks when blending these historical period details with modern design, ensuring every project is filled with character. This tension between old and new fuels his passion for crafting bold, contemporary spaces with soul.
When he's not immersed in architecture, you’ll find Anthony chasing adventure on two wheels. Mountain biking has been his adrenaline fix for over 30 years. “There’s nothing like the rush of tearing through rugged trails, with the world flying past in a blur,” he says. He has taken his bike on solo treks across the UK and Europe, where he’s found a sense of freedom that’s hard to match.
Anthony’s love for the outdoors extends to campervan trips, blending biking and surfing as he winds through scenic mountain roads toward the ocean. Those moments, where the promise of new adventures lies just over the horizon, are where he finds his spark. Meeting fellow travellers and locals along the way has given him some of his happiest memories.
And, of course, Anthony’s love for the road spills over into motorbikes. He rides a customised Triumph Scrambler 900 - his modern classic built for chasing the open road. Whether it’s an impromptu road trip or a peaceful evening by the campfire, Anthony is always seeking moments that strip away the noise and reconnect him with the thrill of the journey and the simple joy of creation.
From a young age, Anthony was captivated by the character and charm of older buildings, each with its own story etched in stone. This fascination led him to pursue a degree in architectural conservation, where he learned the art of breathing new life into forgotten spaces. His studies focused on the creative reuse of historic, listed buildings - structures that had lost their original purpose but still held immense potential.
During his time at university, Anthony took on the challenge of redesigning a neglected historic building, finding ways to enhance its existing beauty while seamlessly integrating contemporary design elements. This experience ignited a lifelong passion for architecture that honours the past while embracing the present.
After graduating, he joined an architectural practice specialising in converting agricultural buildings into unique residential spaces. As an architectural designer, he revelled in the opportunity to create high-quality designs that respected the original structure yet introduced modern elements, harmonising the old with the new.
The thrill of blending contemporary design with historical architecture continues to inspire him to this day.
